Support Us

We’re a non-profit investigative newsroom. We expose wrongdoing, help other journalists do it too, and fight for transparency.
AmaBhungane can not accept funds from governments nor companies. For our independence and transparency, all donations/grants above R10 000 in a year are subject to due diligence and declared on the amaB website, and can not be accepted if they are from a government entity or corporate, or present undue risk of a conflict with our journalism. Read our funding policy here.

We give readers what they need to demand accountability.

We don’t do paywalls or ads. Our work is a public good to be shared by all, no strings attached.

But investigative journalism takes time and money. Readers who are able to donate – amaB Supporters – are our biggest source of income. (The rest is from charitable foundations.)

What’s in it for you?
