Who is behind the opaque lottery pay-outs?

Post Image

The National Lotteries Commission (NLC) has paid out billions to various causes, helping to produce winning Olympians and  contributing to vital services like the Covid-19 relief programme. But a closer look at the money flows reveals a web of opaque payments that are eroding noble intentions.

As media reports by amaBhungane and others have shown, various ‘charities’ have been used as fronts to siphon off payments, leaving intended beneficiaries and sports players high and dry. Attempts to stop the rot have been  squashed  internally.

This is where you come in. Do you have information about payments to fake beneficiaries or other forms of corruption? We’d love to hear from you.
