Laura López González

Laura is an independent health journalist and has spent more than 15 years covering the intersection of science, policy, and people from Johannesburg. The former deputy editor of the Bhekisisa Centre for Health Journalism, Laura has headed up the newsrooms of more than half of South Africa’s health reporting outlets. Her work has appeared in publications across South Africa. Laura’s work often focuses on inequality and access to healthcare. She graduated from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and has a master’s degree from the University of Chicago.
